The summer is a particularly brutal time for Arizona's wildlife. Arizona Game and Fish maintains 3,000 watering sites around the state, at a cost of nearly $1M a year. This summer-focused campaign became an annual effort to raise funds to help offset this huge cost.
In its first summer run, the campaign raised over $50,000, exceeding the Department's fundraising goal for the entire year.
